Alex Ward’s association with Oxford goes back to 1992, when he came to study music, but by this time he was already known as a gifted and highly individual improviser through his association with Derek Bailey’s Company performances. In Oxford he played with such as Pat Thomas and Pete McPhail, and has since collaborated widely on the British and international scenes, notably with Steve Noble, Eugene Chadbourne and Simon Fell, among many others. He took up guitar in 1993 and has been active as a composer in the experimental rock bands Camp Blackfoot, and Alex Ward and the Dead Ends.
Plus music from members of Oxford Improvisers.
