A new sextet of guests Claude Colpaert and Kris Reeder with Oxford Improvisers brass section.

Claude (pictured) is a member of the Muzzix collective in Lille, France and plays in the Grand Orchestre de Muzzix and various small formations within the collective, He has collaborated with with such as Jack Wright, Julie Tippett and Ove Volquartz. As well as trombone he plays gangsa gantung, the Balinese gamelan metallophone. After his two concerts in Oxford he goes on the play at the Foley Street Imoprovised Music Series in London on Thursday 9th.

Oxford born trombonist and composer Kris Reeder has worked alongside musicians across many genres, including Sir Colin Davies, Sir Simon Rattle, Pat Thomas and Kenny Wheeler. After studies at the Royal college of Music and the Royal Academy of Music he began to focus on electronic and free jazz recording. Recent works have featured computer processing and field recordings with live and recorded trombone, as well as the Futurecooljazz series of EPs.

From September Oxford Improvisers monthly concerts at the Old Fire Station will take place on the third Tuesday of the month, not the first Tuesday as at present.
